following message before requesting support for e-mail**
The use of Internet has appreciably grown
in acceptance and now constitutes the primary method of
communication and research for many of our clients. As a
result, we find ourselves devoting a substantial portion of our
day working with clients to resolve difficulties they may be
experiencing with e-mail and other Internet issues. Most of
these issues are outside the services we provide and/or control
for our clients.
Due to the increase in popularity of
blocking Spam over 95% of our support calls are e-mail related.
Most of which we have no control over. As a result of the
increase of support calls we can no longer contunie to support
non- APPS COMMUNICATIONS related issues at no cost. We have
implimented a new support policy on non-APPS COMMUNICATIONS
issues with respect to time expended. The amount of support and
fees we charge will be based on the type of service we are
providing.
Support Fees based on services provided
listed below:
- Network Maintanence Customers - All
support within the contract time frame remaines free.
- Voice or Data T1 Customers – 1 hour
free support per month on billable issues.
- Website Hosting Customers – All
non-APPS COMMUNICATIONS issues will be billed at a rate of
$125.00 per hour. Time will be billed in 15 minute
increments.
- E-mail only Customers - All non-APPS
COMMUNICATIONS issues will be billed at a rate of $125.00
per hour between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5: PM CST. Calls
placed after hours to the emergency support center are
billed at $250.00 per hour. Time will be billed in 15 minute
increments.
To assist our customers with issues that
arise with e-mail today we have built an online knowledgebase.
This knowledge base will help answer common issues with e-mail
and guide you though resolving many of the problems caused by
ISP’s Spam filters.
Billable Support issues:
- Assistance with Spam and/or Spam
filters.
- Assistance with e-mail preference
configurations including Vacation Messages.
- Assistance with Add/editing or
Deleting e-mail accounts.
- Adding new Domain names.
- Tracking lost mail.
- Restoring Backups.
- Assistance with virues or anti virus
software.
- Assistance setting up PC’s or PDA’s.
- Search Engine Submission and site
optimization assistance.
- Any assistance with non- Apps
Communications issues.
All other technical support provided via
telephone or through on-site visits will be invoiced at our
customary support rates listed below.
Phone Support – $125.00 per hour billed in
15 min incriments.
Onsite Support - $156.00 per hour billed in
15 min incriments.
We also want to remind you that it is
extremely important that you back up on a daily basis your
e-mail which may be stored on Apps Communications’ servers:
- Apps Communications’ servers are not
intended or offered for long term e-mail storage. Leaving
mail on the server can result in the mailbox size exceeding
the maxuim size limit. Once the maxuim mailbox size is
exceeded you run the risk of the lost some if not all the
mail in that box.
- Apps Communications is not responsible
for providing back up services for your e-mail; and Apps
Communications is not responsible for loss of customer data
stored on Apps Communications e-mail servers.
Given the importance of record retention
and email messages, we wanted to remind you of our policies in
